Torre Venezia - Tissi

View route details

The Vazzoler hut is far from the Bennet supermarket in Alzate, the designated place where we do our grocery shopping before leaving for the Dolomites. We arrive in Listolade at 20:30 and stop for a snack in the parking area at the end of the road leading to Capanna Trieste. After a short run and a few hours of sleep, we are ready! And of course, after following the hut warden’s advice (“tomorrow nobody goes up the Venezia route, you can start at 7”), we still find three rope teams ahead of us: one British team and an Austrian with a guide. The British are maddeningly slow and manage to get us caught in the rain on the descent. But not all bad news has a bad ending: on the way down we meet Matteo and Alessandro from Falcade, with whom we will later cross paths again at the crag and in the mountains. Overall, the route is very beautiful, relaxing, and at times highly exposed. On the descent, the Torre Trieste—which we hadn’t been able to appreciate properly in the dark on the ascent—leaves us enchanted.
