Corno Stella - Pilastro di Oscar + Carlo Rossana

View route details

Piazzale Corvetto gas station: one of the recurring starting points of my mountain outings. We set off at 6 a.m. towards a mountain I had never seen before: the Corno Stella. After almost three hours of driving and an hour and a half of hiking, we reach the Rifugio Bozano, where the hut keeper suggests that an excellent combination of routes to “save energy for the next day” is Pilastro di Oscar, followed by Carlo Rossana. So we set off as the sun begins to touch the wall, and we completely lose track of time. After a long queue on the rappels, convinced it’s not too late, we suddenly realize it’s 8:30 p.m. We run back to the hut, hoping for the kindness of the hut keeper—who, despite the hour, prepares us an excellent meal and even offers us a superb génépy.
