View route detailsAnd here is Jacopo tackling the Eastern Alps for the first time. We choose a route that isn’t too intimidating, but still has a Dolomitic feel. After an excellent dinner in the Zoldo Valley, we arrive at night at the charming Rifugio Bosconero. To start things off properly, I forget the camera battery in the car, but the phone will take its place. Despite the shaky start, the route goes smoothly. A beautiful climb—never dangerous or unsettling, although the first V+ pitches are sparsely protected. I left a piton at the penultimate belay.
