After all the “pre-post-accident coincidences,” we couldn’t not go and climb a route together! Juri, who stayed very close to me throughout the very boring time I was stuck at home, one day told me he would be spending two weeks in Vodo di Cadore. Vodo di Cadore I seize the opportunity to keep that promise we had made on Monte Nero: that sooner or later we would climb a route together. And so Juri takes care of the route selection in great detail, sparing me brutal approaches and potentially deadly descents! Out of this comes the name Nikibi, completely unknown to me until a second before. I trust him, and it turns out to be an excellent choice! A beautiful route, on excellent rock, fun from the first to the last metre, and very well equipped. Of course, I don’t miss anything, and so (despite the “no-leading” rules) I end up leading the last pitch, grade III. I can’t help but notice that I’ve lost my eye for choosing the right cam sizes, but with a bit of patience it will come back…
