View route detailsAh, how nice it is to wake up late! That’s how, thinking we would definitely not find a single centimeter of snow on the Swiss roads (well, what imagination—we’re not exactly short of snow anywhere!), we end up putting on snow chains and crawling up the Meiental at 1 km/h. The result of all this foresight is that we only leave the car after 10 a.m., even though it’s almost the shortest day of the year. Amazing conditions (in Andermatt there’s almost only grass around) all the way up the climb (classic spring conditions) allow us to reach the top without major issues, enjoy the descent, and get back to the car before nightfall.
