The goal was to ski down the Schenatti couloir, which currently requires a fair bit of nerve to tackle. I’m posting this trip report just to discuss the conditions: terrible (as expected). Let’s start with the road conditions: icy; a 4x4 with chains is recommended. Snow: terrible (about 200 meters of good snow out of a 1,800-meter trip, since the road isn’t fully passable all the way to Predarossa). Conditions range from hard-packed snow to a non-bearing crust to sticky slush. I also advise against repeating this trip in the coming days after the expected snowfall (surface frost is present along the entire route).
