Piz Argient - Normale da Diavolezza
View route detailsThings are off to a great start: in Lecco, we realize we’ve forgotten the rope, so we go back to get it; at the Diavolezza parking lot, I realize I’ve only brought one pair of ski socks (and I’m wearing the short ones), but Alessandro saves the day by lending me a pair of regular socks. Luckily, all this happens the night before, so we’re the first ones on the cable car. The cabin is full, but everyone is headed to the Palu’. We hadn’t found much about this trip online, and in fact, its low popularity is confirmed by the fact that at the fortress we meet only two people who set out on foot very early. The climb never ends, and at one point we’re tempted to cut down through a beautiful gully with only two tracks, but in the end we stick to our goal. Then the descent begins, with stunning scenery and incredible snow.... eehhhh... for the first 700 meters... From 3,200 meters down, it’s less so, and the final stretch is like water skiing. A beautiful day and excellent company for a wonderful trip, one that deserves more popularity. How could it have gone better?
