After much deliberation, we decide that leaving Milan at 10 p.m. on Friday for the Tre Cime, with a mandatory return on Saturday night, is rather unpleasant, so we opt for something closer. The only acceptable alternative is the second coldest place in the world after the Tre Cime: Piantonetto. We arrive after midnight, set up the tent on the dam’s plaza, and decide we’ll start late. 7 a.m.: breakfast, which we’ll supplement at Pontese; we pack everything up and head out. We start the route around 11:30 a.m., with Ape and Mago heading up Agrippine, while Mattia and I start on Nel corso del tempo. The pitches are very beautiful, though sometimes a bit forced in pursuit of aesthetic movement at the expense of climbing logic. Everything goes smoothly, and we soon reach the last two pitches, which, despite being only 6a, are no walk in the park... We reach the end of the route practically at the same time as the rest of the team, lower down, and rush home—some to go biking and canoeing the next day, others to head to Nibbio...
