VII Kirchlispitze - Kamala

Second day in Ratikon: when people advise you to follow the ABC, they’re usually telling you to start with the easy routes and work your way up to the harder ones. We, of course, do our own thing and reverse the order of the easier routes, leaving this one until second. Actually, the advice makes sense: this route is less sustained; the difficulty lies more in a few boulder-style moves to get through than in Galadriel, where continuous climbing is the main challenge. Overall, I didn’t find the route particularly exciting – perhaps because I wasn’t feeling fresh after Galadriel – but apart from the 6b pitch after the meadow, there are no pitches worth mentioning. We left intrigued by this place – picture-postcard beautiful from a natural landscape perspective – but not as impressed as we were by Wenden or other renowned climbing paradises. Perhaps we should try raising the bar and tackle some daring routes like Intifada or Amarcord
