And so I’m slowly getting better, so it’s time to go climbing again… I decide to spend this weekend on the rock again and then get back to skiing the following one (too bad the lifts would later be shut down due to the coronavirus). I reach out to Giacomo, who doesn’t hesitate to accept this proposal for our first route together. The ascent of the Irene Pillar proceeds a bit slowly due to the line of climbers ahead, but the second section suits our pace much better. There’s a strong wind, and lots of rocks are flying off near the via ferrata, but luckily our route remains sheltered. The pitches are no walk in the park, and the rock is incredible. We finally reach the summit, ready to descend to Laorca, but the normal trail is completely covered in snow. To avoid danger, we head down toward Antimedale, where the sun has already cleared everything...
