Tour des Jorasses - Etoiles Filantes
View route detailsSome time ago Max had told me about this formation, but it hadn’t really caught my attention. I had read about various routes there, more or less classic. It was the last thing on my mind when Lorenzo suggested it, but I hadn’t climbed for over a month, so I asked him for a weekend to get back in touch with rock. After a two-day trip with Ape in Valle Orco, I was absolutely not ready, but we decided to go anyway. I managed to destroy two pairs of climbing shoes in two non-consecutive weekends, so I showed up with a brand new pair. We bivouacked in a comfortable meadow less than two hours from the base of the route and finally got started. After the first three pitches, everything else is demanding. The highlight is the relentless 7a slab, where I resort to improvised tricks I had never used before (as second). By the seventh pitch my big toes are screaming, but there’s still some way to go. We reach the end of the difficulties and decide to abseil without continuing to the non-summit of the Tour. Congratulations to Jacopo and Lorenzo, who on sighted the whole route.
