View route details“Ibis redibis non morieris in bello...” I’ve always wondered whether this was the meaning behind the name of this route. Motto’s routes are usually named after films, but despite my poor film culture and Google’s help, I’ve never come across a movie titled “Ibis”. And so, together with Damiano—whom I had met some time ago when I repeated the Fessura della Disperazione for the second time—we decide to challenge the Cumaean Sibyl. It’s clearly our first route together and we are both a bit nervous. After the first two pitches, we start to find our rhythm. The sky doesn’t do our fingers any favours, and when the sun is covered by clouds it gets quite cold. Everything goes smoothly and soon we start the abseil descent. I suggest to Damiano that we climb Ginseng as well, since it’s still early and we have headlamps in our packs, but fortunately the length of the path down to Rongio dissuades him…
