Brenta Alta - Detassis
View route detailsAfter a fairly long bike ride in which I didn’t really feel the fatigue, I start thinking that doing a big route in a day with a (on paper) significant approach could be a good idea. Also, I need to check whether I’ve overcome the trauma of the glass jar that exploded in my hand. With Marcello we decide to climb a short (!) route with classic difficulty and beautiful rock, and above all a direct line—so if my finger doesn’t work, rappelling will be easy. Marcello, to look better in photos, puts on camouflage gear. Those guys must have been really crazy to climb this kind of stuff in boots… The holds are always there, but they’re often accompanied by smears, and I don’t even want to imagine how they dealt with them wearing those planks on their feet. After the hard section we move together on simul-climbing (very dangerous, the rope knocks loose quite a few stones resting on ledges; if I ever had to climb that dihedral again I think I’d just untie myself). A beautiful route, worthy of its reputation.
