Teodoro is a person with a rare determination: to envisage leaving his job and the usual comforts behind to climb all the 4,000-metre peaks in the Alps without using any form of lift, without using mountain huts except in an emergency, and without the certainty of having climbing partners to complete the traverse requires a vision and a tenacity that I have seen only in this young man.

In the summer of 2025, the treacherous conditions in the Argentiere basin and the lack of climbing partners had forced Teodoro to skip four peaks, which it would have been impossible to make up for until the tour was over. With this ascent, we are going to fill that gap and bring his vision to fruition.

When he told me about the Traversata project – the idea of carrying a symbol of peace to all the highest peaks in the Alps using a very minimalist approach – I knew straight away that I wanted to get involved.

Since then, we have been roped together on 32 four-thousand-metre peaks, sharing the cold, the isolation and the silence of long days at high altitude, supporting one another in difficult moments and discovering, climb after climb, that we were pursuing the same ideal of mountaineering: far from the crowds and in complete self-reliance.
