Regina Margherita hut
Description
Regina Margherita hut stands on Punta Gnifetti, within the Monte Rosa massif - one of the vastest mountain ranges in the Alps, offering an horizon of glaciers that seems to never end. The ascent starts from the Italian side, taking the cable car up to Punta Indren at 3,260 meters and staying overnight at Rifugio Gnifetti to give the body time to adjust to the altitude. The following day begins in the dark, guided by headlamps, to climb up to Europe's highest mountain hut and observatory.
