"I’m a natural-born wanderer: the longer and more remote the outing, the better I feel. I started climbing late, and skiing even later -but I threw myself into both headfirst. I’ve completed a full solo traverse of the entire Alpine arc on skis, and I also attempted to link all 82 of the Alps’ 4,000-meter peaks on foot. The traverse was a success; the link-up almost: 78 summits climbed. From the second project, though, I gained something just as valuable: a friendship with Filo, whom I met halfway along the route. He caught the bug, dove into the project with the same intensity, and together we waved the Peace flag from as many as 27 peaks!"
